The Unique Homes Design and Build Process

Consultation

The first stage of the design of your brand new dream home begins with an introductory consultation with our managing director and design team. Here we will develop a broad understanding of your ideal home design, your personal/family requirements and discuss your budget, to establish a design brief.

During the meeting, you’ll be introduced to our extensive portfolio of award winning floor plans, which is an ideal platform with which to begin designing your own home. Sifting through the vast collection of floor plans with our design team, you’ll be able to choose one that best appeals to your style, home requirements and block of land. From here, we’ll then be able to set about customising the design to suit.

Concept Design

Based on the floor plan you selected in the initial consultation, a concept design is drafted by our architect. Upon completion, we discuss the concept with you and ask you to suggest any alterations that you wish to make, before we seek approval from you to proceed with the design.

Pricing

Once the concept design has been approved by you, we conduct a thorough cost assessment, tallying up all the expenses attributed to your design, along with all inclusions that you have chosen to incorporate. It is at this time that you may find that some of your inclusions or floor plans may need to be modified slightly, in order to keep everything under budget. It is during this period that you will work alongside our interior designer to choose your indoor and outdoor colour schemes, lighting, furnishings and more, to create a beautiful new homestead that is uniquely you.

Contract

Once the concept drawing has been transformed into a working design and has your approval, you’ve worked alongside our interior designer to select your inclusions, you’ve chosen your desired colour schemes and it’s been established that everything falls within your budget, it is then time for you to sign the official Master Builders contract. This contact functions as a binding agreement between yourself and Unique Homes.

Council Approval

We handle the entire council approval process for you, ensuring all documentation pertaining to your home design is legal and in accordance with local housing regulations. During the council approval process, you’re asked to make any final changes concerning your interior and exterior colour schemes, as well as building materials. As a respected home builder for many decades, we have a well-established network of suppliers that we partner with to provide you with premium quality products from brand names you can trust.

Follow Up Meeting

It is during this second meeting with us that you have the chance to finalise your appliances and fittings, indoor and outdoor colour schemes and everything other element that comprises your beautiful new residence. It is at this time that you will also be introduced to our project manager, who will speak to you about the building phase, before construction commences.

Construction

The construction of your luxury Brisbane custom home is supervised by our managing director, Jim Taylor and we provide you with regular progress updates, which consist of phone calls, emails and photos. Additionally, we also schedule onsite visitations.

Completion and Handover

At the completion of your remarkable new custom home, you will be invited to the Unique Homes headquarters, whereupon you’ll take receipt of all relevant documents pertaining to your new dwelling, before being presented with the keys to your wonderful new abode.
